Life
As it happens many times, life happens. This is a little redundant (ok a lot redundant), but recently life has been a rollercoaster of different things, ideas, and parts pulling me in 100 different directions (or if I had to count, it would be closer to 6).
Homelab
And such as
First headache that I have been recently dealing with is a three-part story on its' own.
First, I wanted to upgrade my backbone of my network, so that having my Proxmox storage on my main storage node would actually make sense. If you have no idea what I am talking about, refer to the below document:
Anyway, I installed (after much pain in getting the right cables) all the 10G equipment but spent way too many hours trying to get it to actually play nice with the existing 1G connections.
Since that didn't work, I also decided that it would be a great time to start another project.
That leads me to my second headache: Setting up my lab environment. This has been the thing most out of my depth. Setting up Kasm has been annoying because Proxmox has changed permission layout since the docs were written (like 5 months ago!).
Also, I have had some trouble with the AutoScale feature that is baked into it.
Right now, it is running (I think) so here is a button. For the nobody who reads this here is some helpful login details for the subscribers:
The final headache is keeping everything up to date, but for now I guess that really isn't a huge problem :...
School
In all its' glory
School (college) has been generally ok. I have been making good grades, and I can mostly understand (most of) my professors. Recently though making sure that I am going to graduate by May '26 has been a challenge.
In the beginning year, I chose not to take a full load (which I knew I would regret and I do) which makes this final semester really tight in terms of workload. Well, one of my classes got dropped (outside of my control) and I had to really push to get in another class.
Right after that was resolved, I found myself a little late for spring '26 registration. I managed to register (after the usual head-scratching) for all classes except one.
I needed a prerequisite that I wouldn't be able to take until later. This wouldn't have been an issue if not for my previous mistakes.
Now, I have resolved it (I hope, it is still a little WIP) and this week I plan on scheduling my [REDACTED COLLEGE NAME HERE] visit for my future transfer.
Work
Really? This too??
Yeah. Work has been... depressing
Overall, it has not been terrible, especially this week I was finally able to rest a bit from all the chaos from the past few weeks. Until last Thursday.
My boss's position was removed.
I am still processing it because they were the closest person I knew there, and with no fanfare or party or anything else, just whispers of rumors that aren't all that great are left in the wake.
Car
It has problems... I think....
Last, but (probably) not least, my car has had an engine light to replace a $1600 component for the last year.
I finally am in a place where I can replace it (without too much of a setback) and the stupid light actually goes off.
I did check. I didn't burn out, it truly doesn't see any errors at the moment, but I am sure if I cancel my appointment tomorrow, it will turn back on soon enough. This means I am still getting the issue resolved (if needed), but it is nice that for the past couple of days, I can remote start my car. 😄
Bonus
My health
Not a whole lot I want to say at this point, but basically, I got sick over the past couple of days because I am staying up too late (I think).
I am up late writing this, so I will not say anything else about this right now, but it is a good note to leave here in case something happens :-P
Man, that was a LOT to type. This is what I get for not writing for several days. It just gets bottled up.
Also, I need to remember to read the Bible soon and pray about all of this.
Either way, whoever got to the end of this (nobody) gets a bonus in the next part with a special code :)
